Overview

In today's lesson,  our focus will be on how to use te-form to:

  • Ask for and give permission ("May I do...?". " You may ....") 　～て／でもいいですか
  • Talk about rules and regulations ("You must not do....").　　～て／ではいけません
  • Combing two or more actions ("I did this and then I did that"), The verb te-forms are the equivalent to  "and".　～て、～

Overview - Chapter 8 Introduction and Outcomes

  Chapter ８ Introduction and Outcomes Welcome to Chapter 8!  Introduction First, I would like to  introduce you to a new paradigm of conjugation called the “Short Forms"  Our focus will be on: Verb Short Forms (present tense), affirmative and negative.（食べる→食べない；よむ→よまない；くる→こない；する→しない） Adjectives and noun Short Forms (present tense), affirmative and negative. （かわいい→かわいくない；しずかだ→しずかじゃない；学生だ→学生じゃない） How to use Short Forms to make : casual conversations.
