Chapter 7 Introduction and Outcomes

Welcome to Chapter 7!

Introduction

In this chapter our focus will be on:

  • ～ている(I'm doing...; She is doing...)   ーーテレビを見ています。けっこんしています。
  • describing people-----田中さんは目が大きいです。
  • the “te-form” of adjectives and nouns-----あのレストランはやすくて、おいしいです。
  • ～に行く／くる／かえる-----としょかんに本をかりに行きます。
  • counter～人-----クラスに女の人がなんにんいますか。
  • new kanji and vocabulary.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this Chapter, you should be able to:

  • talk about families and friends.
  • describing how people are dressed and how they look.
  • use ”～人” to count people
  • identify fourteen kanji characters and be able to use them in writing, and memorize the new vocabulary．

Overview - Chapter 8 Introduction and Outcomes

  Chapter ８ Introduction and Outcomes Welcome to Chapter 8!  Introduction First, I would like to  introduce you to a new paradigm of conjugation called the “Short Forms"  Our focus will be on: Verb Short Forms (present tense), affirmative and negative.（食べる→食べない；よむ→よまない；くる→こない；する→しない） Adjectives and noun Short Forms (present tense), affirmative and negative. （かわいい→かわいくない；しずかだ→しずかじゃない；学生だ→学生じゃない） How to use Short Forms to make : casual conversations. Purpose The purpose of this project is to give you practice in writing and speaking skills and to see how much you've learned over the semester.  Instruction In this semester, though out the chapters, you've learned many vocabulary, kanji and grammar includes more complex subordinate phrases and clauses. It’s time for you to  use what you've learned in this semester to build a 3-4 minutes skit with your partner. You may choose any topic, but make sure your language is clear and grammar is correct.
